A new assignment!
Colors! Thinking about the assignment tonight reminded of the "Favela's" in Brazil. House on house. Every imaginable color. It was a very poor place. The scene was unique and beautiful. I doubt most people saw it the same way. The color of each home was probably what made each family unit stand out. The shot above was taken from a moving bus. I remember well panning to try and get a shot that was as sharp as possible. I followed the Favela's as they passed by. The exposure was 1/80 of a second. And handheld. Too slow. The colors came through. And the texture of the different levels of homes was recorded. I hope this week to take advantage of all the colors in the world man made or natural. No panning from a bus (hopefully).
Keep the camera close!

This is really a cool photo. When it's seen small, the colors make it look like something it's not, then up close, it's totally different-you can see the poverty like you described.
