AZ Cactus

With cactus being just about the most prevalent thing in Arizona it begs to be photographed.  There must be a thousand kinds of Cactus.  They all have one thing in common (at least the ones I have seen).  Razor sharp, poisonous, hook like machetes... I mean needles.   Not sure what cactus are so mad about but do they ever have a temper!  Get stuck with one of these baby's and life changes for a day or so.   It would be a quicker recovery if all the needles were large enough to see.  But No!!!  some are so small it literally takes a magnifying glass to see them.  Smaller than a human hair they kick like a drop of vinegar on a wound.  The pain and itching can last for a day or more.  This has to be the best defense mechanism in the natural world.  All that being said they can be beautiful.  Not like Beyonce beautiful.    More like rose, or lily beautiful.

Jim,
Ditto on number one. I love the shallow depth of field. Can I put in my vote for numer two as well? I love the color! Good stuff. Whats the 777?
