I have been working late nights on TAXES (YUK!). So i did not get out today again. Tomorrow is a new day and an outing to Idaho!
The picture above was taken just after sun rise. The original photo is much brighter. Today I wanted to get a strong impact from the rainbow for the assignment-colors. If I would have been shooting the original photo with the assignment-colors I would have dropped the EV by a stop or two. Then in the digital dark room lighten the rocks. Today I ran the photo through NIK - midnight. It created more contrast and put crazy shadows on things (note the big rock and the shadowing around it). The other thing that midnight does is blur the picture. There is a slide control for this in the program. I pushed the blur about halfway up. The thing I did not like is that it turned the rocks into silhouettes. So I erased back to the original photo on the rocks and the highlights in the water. A good example of color. A year old but what the heck. Tomorrow the world opens again to my lenses and camera! Watch out world (Idaho) here I come! I hope to see a rainbow cow! Now that would be a first.

I love how the distance between the two rocks leads you in to the photo. Beautiful :)
