HDR

HDR...is the rage.  But is it easy to produce quality images?
What do you think?  Can you tell this is an HDR image?  The scene had 6 stops in light variation.  There seems to be an infinite number of experts on HDR images.  The photo above has no burning or dodging.  I did play with the tone mapping a little.  Without critique of composition, etc., tell me what do you think about this HDR image?  The next couple of days I hope to push the HDR process more.  I look forward to your comments.

HDR Photography rocks, but it can be overdone. I like what you did with the picture. It doesn't scream HDR and I like that. I use Photomatix and love it, super easy and extremely flexible. You are miles ahead of me man, keep it up.

Yeah- this one is really good, not overdone at all. Can't wait to see more!

I like this because it is real. I mean it is probably very close to what you saw, and if it isn't than its not a stretch to think that it was. The thing that gets me sometimes about HDR, is that it can come off as fake and cartoonish...not this one! I would love a little how to on this...I don't think my camera will bracket exposures so I am not quite sure how to go about doing something like this. Great work!

Something about a lone tree that just screams HDR, especially on a stormy day. Great capture - I really like it.
